Ines Gray didn't set out to become a paranormal romance author. She became one to stay sane. For over two decades, she worked in law enforcement, mastering the art of expository writing while collecting enough real-world darkness to fuel a lifetime of fiction. Writing became her therapy, her escape hatch, the thing that kept her demons at bay. She jokes that it keeps her from killing people, though she admits that might be a touch dark. But then again, so are her books.

The creative itch has always been there, manifesting in unexpected ways throughout her life. She's tried her hand at quilting, woodworking, welding (though not very well, she confesses), drawing, and photography. She was even a gymnast in her younger years before burnout sent her searching for other outlets. But nothing stuck quite like writing. Nothing else could contain the universe of stories constantly expanding in her mind, demanding to be told. The only way to free them and reclaim some mental real estate was to put them on paper.

Her journey into paranormal romance began with a curious mix of influences. Growing up in the Midwest, Ines devoured the romantic suspense novels of Linda Howard, Linda Winstead Jones, and Jane Ann Krentz throughout her twenties. Then, in 2008, she caught two separate horror movies that both featured a character named Azazel. Intrigued, she fell down a research rabbit hole and discovered the Nephilim and the Watchers from the Book of Enoch—200 angels sent to Earth to observe humanity. Combine that with her longtime fascination with Buddhist concepts of reincarnation and her love of mythology, and suddenly the Watchers and Warriors series was born in her imagination, fully formed and demanding to exist.

But the road to publication was anything but smooth. That same year, disaster struck when a mouthwash spill damaged the thumb drive containing the only half-finished copy of her debut novel. Poof! 180 pages of work were lost in an instant. Life got busier, and Ines tucked the damaged drive away, essentially giving up. Except she never truly gave up, because she kept that thumb drive. Every few years, she'd stumble across it and try again, hoping for a miracle. The miracle finally came in 2022 when she had a lightbulb moment: maybe technology had advanced enough that someone could recover her lost work. She was right. A tech wizard retrieved all 180 pages, and Ines dove back into her fictional world with renewed passion.

By 2023, she'd signed with a UK-based independent publishing agency, and in June 2025, Angel Redeemed, Book 1 of the Watchers and Warriors series, finally made its debut. Now, after more than 30 years of marriage, with her child grown and time finally on her side, Ines is making up for lost years. She has six books planned for the Watchers and Warriors series, plus multiple installments in the Nightshade Shifters and the Wicked Immortals spin-off series. Her mission? To write as many stories as possible about fallen angels, demons, and supernatural beings lurking in the shadows of our world.

These days, when she's not conjuring forbidden love between immortals who walk the line between redemption and ruin, Ines can be found indulging in action and horror movies, traveling with her husband, or being supervised by her rescue cat with cerebellar hypoplasia. She's an introvert who comes alive when discussing the right subjects. Fallen angels, dark prophecies, and whether vampires or shifters make better book boyfriends are guaranteed conversation starters. She's reliable, artistic, and still keeping those dark thoughts at bay, one paranormal romance at a time.

For readers who crave romance with bite, prophecies with consequences, and immortals with serious baggage, Ines Gray delivers worlds where love is the most dangerous supernatural force of all.
